Scald milk (or cream). |

Combine eggs, sugar and salt in bowl. |

Add scalded milk gradually. |

Cook, stirring constantly until mixture coats spoon. Remove from heat. Stir in vanilla. |

Cool by placing in bowl of cold water and stirring 1 to 2 min. more. |
