Preheat oven to 350°. |

Line 24 muffin cups with paper liners. |

Mix cake mix, sour cream, water, oil, eggs, food coloring and vanilla in a large mixing bowl per directions. |

Spoon batter into the lined muffin cups till 2/3 full. Bake until cupcakes spring back when lightly pressed with your finger, 20-25 minutes. |

Frost with favorite frosting (d'oh'!). |
